Can you put humbuckers on a fender tele, strat or other fenders?

This has been done by many players. One of the first that I’ve seen done is on a 1953 Fender Telecaster owned by Bob Bain. Bob had his work done by Gibson salesman Tiny Timbrell around 1956 in Hollywood, California. Tiny had one of the first humbucking pickups produced by Gibson and had it mounted in Bob’s guitar. One famous song recorded with the Telecaster was the original “Peter Gun”. Another friend and player who had a humbucker put on the neck position of his Telecaster is British singer, guitarist Terry Reid and guitarist Keith Richards. During the 70s while working in England at the Fender Soundhouse, I built a guitar nicknamed “The Tele-Gib” and was given to Jeff Beck who went on to record “Cause we’ve ended as lovers” on his “Blow by Blow” album in the 70s. It was a modified Fender Telecaster with two rewound “Patent Applied For” humbuckers in the neck and bridge position. Many guitar companies especially Fender are offering many models of guitars with traditional style humbucking pickups.
